An adverb is a word that describes a verb. In English most adverbs are formed by adding "ly" to the end of the singular feminine form of an adjective. In Spanish "mente" is added to the singular form of an adjective.

An adverb can also be formed by combining con with the noun form of the word.

When two adverbs describe the same verb, only the second one uses the "mente" ending. Note that the first adverb is the same as the feminine singular form of the adjective.
